I have always been passionate about film ever since I was 6 years old watching movies with my dad. I would watch a lot of good and bad movies with my dad it was the best way to get to know each other and my favorite way to spend time with him. I won’t forget the day I watched Spider-man 2 with my Dad, I would like to say that was the moment when I was fully hooked into filmmaking. My dad would show me movies from his favorite directors like Tarantino, Hitchcock, Nolan and Eastwood, which was the catalyst in the search of my style. Filmmaking for me is to make films for my dad and I to watch together.

For me, art has always been a competition and entertainment. I have always viewed other filmmakers as competitors similar to a marathon run on who can outlast who with their legacy. When it comes to how I would want my film to be for my legacy I look at Stan Lee as his characters and stories even outlive himself and especially how his characters impacted others, me included.

As a writer and director, I see it as a game of chess with my cast and crew with each new film being a different strategy throughout pre- to postproduction. As a writer, I want to be able to create unique stories similar to the mangaka Fujimoto with shocking, crude, and entertaining beats throughout the story, as well as an interesting pace similar to Tarantino.

As a director my most important values are being open-minded and letting others experiment, as much I believe we have to plan a lot as a director we also have to improvise as well on the spot and sometimes that means trusting others to attempt something new. Combining both roles I can understand what makes a unique story and know when to trust my cast and crew to add more to the vision.
